Northampton County, Virginia has the distinction of being one of the earlier settlements in our nation’s history. Settled in 1614, the county is surrounded on one side by the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay on the other. This rural county has retained its pastoral beauty and its leisurly pace to this day. With its saltwater bays, marshes and numerous creeks, the county is one of the few unspoiled coastal areas on the Eastern Seaboard.
