Volunteering

Maybe it’s because life had always been hard on the Eastern Shore and we had to depend on the generosity of each other to get by. Maybe it’s because we have been a very poor county from our very beginning and, because nobody had much money, we just had to do it ourselves. Either way, Northampton County has a long legacy of volunteerism. So many things get done here, even today, because of the willingness of our citizens to “take it on”.

Northampton County has a thriving non-profit community and the multitudes of events and festivals are always looking for volunteer help. Volunteering is one of the very best ways to get to know your new neighbors and community.
